How To Roast Almonds

Using A Microwave
  • Take a microwave safe dish and place about half a cup of almonds in them.
  • Add 1tsp butter to this dish.
  • Microwave on 100% for about 2min. Mix the butter and almonds together again and let it roast for another 3mins.
  • Keep checking on the almonds so that you don’t burn them.
  • Roasted almonds are dark brownish in colour.
Using An Oven
  • Preheat the oven to 350oF and place an aluminum foil on a dish.
  • Spread the almonds out on to the foil and place them in the oven.
  • Sprinkle a little vegetable oil on the surface so that the almonds don’t stick to the foil while roasting.
  • Set the oven to around 360oF and time it for around 8min.
  • Take out the dish by itself and let the almonds cool in the foil for some time.
  • Freshly roasted almonds smell delicious and you could add a seasoning of your choice such as honey to make it more delicious.
  • Honey roasted almonds will attract everyone and your kids will definitely love to munch on it.
  • Refrigerate this and the honey will crust on the surface and it will be a nice snack and delicious too!
Using The Stove
  • If you don’t have a microwave or an oven, you can still roast almonds on the stove. Look how easy it has been made!
  • Take a non stick pan, so the almonds can’t stick to the base.
  • Add almonds such that it forms a single layer. Avoid taking too many almonds because it will roast unevenly then.
  • On a medium flame, start roasting the almonds. Keep mixing and stir occasionally to roast it uniformly.
  • Within a few minutes you will see that the colour of the skin has turned dark brown and the almonds are releasing a typical aroma.
  • Let the almonds cool before you remove them. Remember slightly cooled, fresh almonds taste better than burning hot ones.
  • Almonds cooked this way, without any oil is called dry roasting.
